Enjoy the benefits of crop swath harvesting without the need for expensive special machinery. Tractor Swathing allows you to swath using a basic tractor. All you need is a front 3 point attachment (or a tractor with reverse drive). Once cut, the swathed crop can be picked up using a forage wagon and brought to a swath separator production to separate the crop from the straw (a 30% yield bonus over conventional combine harvesting).

In addition to the native support for swathed crops in forage wagons, this mod also adds the ability to load swathed crops into standard bulk trailers and silos for easy transport and storage.

Hello,

Is it possible to add rye and spelt? I'm playing on the RiverBendSprings4XEditByStevie map and it doesn't work with these two crops.

Adding custom crops to Tractor Swathing is a bit of a problem. If I make the separator productions with custom crop inputs that the user does not have in their savegame then the whole production building will not be loaded into the game.

I am planning to look into a kind of "Tractor Swathing Add-On" as a separate PC only mod that will allow player to choose custom crops to automatically be added to the production buildings but no guarantee that will happen.

Is anyone else having an issue with AI Workers and Canola? The AI Workers work fine with Soybeans and Barley when using the SwatchDropper 760. However, when I attempt to run it on Canola,  it tells me the field isnt ready to work. I can run the Canola fields manually without an issue.

Other than that, this mod is working great. Thanks for the work.

Are you able to swath canola with any other swathing mods or the Macdon DLC?

Across all my mods I have noticed AI being picky with specific ground types, but nothing in this mod messes with that. Aee you on a mod map?

I am on Riverbend Springs and dont have the DLC or any other swathing mods. I found it really weird. I have tested against Wheat, Barley, and Soybeans, and they all work fine with the AI Workers, its only Canola that the AI just refuses to do.

Alright, just popped in game and was able to confirm it is this "ground type" issue I mentioned. Long story short there are two types of "harvest ready" ground types and for some reason AI mowers (which swathers are technically a mower) will not acknowledge the "_OTHER" ground type. I noticed this when I was making an update for Swathing Plus and assumed it as unique to sorghum and rice since those do not natively support swathing. This looks like a game bug to me so I will report it and see what Giants says.

If you are on PC you can force the ground type to be the regular "HARVEST_READY" using Easy Dev or Power Tools and it will allow AI to work.

Hey BB I just tried tractor swathing and swathing plus. I realised you can't pick up sorghum or long rice.

So after figuring out where to change this I just added both swaths to the fillType xml. While it does throw warnings if swathing plus is not installed I find this acceptable for compatibility purposes. Also it would be weird to add it to swathing plus as then you could only pick up sorghum and long rice and not wheat etc.

My motivation: I don't use the factory because I do it the Ropa style. Pick it up with a forage harvester, drop it and then process it with a combine the normal way.

If you could add that even just as a temp workaround i would be quite thankful.

BB just wondered if you could mod a tractor so it has a wider wheel base, as it tends to run over some of the swath as they are to narrow. Thank you

To be honest, probably not. Without fully getting into a tractor model to look, I am pretty sure most of the Giants tractor models, the axles are all part of one big model so to make custom wider axles would be bit of work. I may be able to make the swath a little more narrow, but that will only do so much if you have a massive yield.

is it possible to add sorghum to it?

Unfortunately, not directly. Tractor Swathing is cross platform and I can not add new crops to the fruitTypeConverter or modify the sorghum crop to drop swath. This is a feature for my Swathing+ mod, which when combined with this would allow sorghum swathing.

yes thats right, but how can i pick up the sorghum swath with a forage wagon and put it into your Swath Separator?

Oooo that is a good point, sorry forgot about that!

So that is a little tricky actually. I can add sorghum swath to the forage wagon modification here on Tractor Swathing, however if I make a receipe in the productions for a fill type that doesnt exist (if you use the mod without Swathing+) it will cause the production building to not load in.

With Tractor Swathing being cross platform, there is now fix for this directly. I realized this when working on the Swathing+ update. Right now the plan is to make a "Tractor Swathing Add-on" mod for PC only that has a script to modify the recipies so the mod still works the normal way. Hope that makes sense.

Yes, two days in testing. I would say small chance it drops tomorrow, more likely Monday or Tuesday.

A drivable bale loader is on my list of ideas to look into....eventually lol

It is back in testing (stage 1, PC). Maybe next week but with all the events and DLC coming the MH team said next week might be a slow test week.

Nope, update still in testing and it seems this whole week is gonna be a pretty big unknown update week as Giants is busy with some events 🤷‍♂️. They said "testing will continue" but who knows it they will release anything or move things to new stages of testing.

Firat stage is done, waiting to hear if they found any more problems. If not than on to console testing which 100% will not fail just takes a few more work days to get done.

Absalutely one of the best gameplay additions! Cutting and baling at the same time makes me actually want to cut grass. Thank you!!!

Appreciate that! Wide mowing and baling is actually a driving force behind this (coupled with Swathing Plus) haha I was missing this when the DLC Macdon stuff doesnt do grass or have a rear hitch.

Hopefully both should be officially hitting the Modhub in a couple weeks!

can we use this with the macdon header on a harvester as well? to lay the straw on the field for bailing? Not 'really' needed, but curious..

yes, the "windrowed" crop that this mod header drops is identical to the Macdon header so they work perfectly fine together for either step.

Tractor Swathing is going to remain console compatible so I was not able to add the grass to it (hence the separate mod with the scripts needed to cut grass with swathers).
